Update
Life has been very crazy so I've not updated the blog in a while. Sorry about that for anyone who follows! I've been finishing up my internships at Gibbs Elementary and Oak Grove High School so that I can graduate in December! Yay! Seth's been busy working hard bringing in the money and I've been trying my best to contribute by taking family and senior portraits and selling some artwork here and there! I am planning to have an art show on December 6 from 6-9 at Genesis Salon in Benton! Yay! Hope the turn out is good! Until then I'll be super busy making artwork for the show! Hope you all are having a great fall!

Ready for Summer!
Hello everyone! Hope all is well! We have been busy with several things lately. Seth has begun working on his own and has been doing quite well! I have just finished up my last spring semester at UALR and am preparing for summer classes. I have also been busy doing artwork for several people. I did a photo shoot with Mia recently, which was really fun! You can check out the new work on my website....lainiedeerman.com (Ben has put the website together for me so if you need website work he's your guy!) Until next time!

So I just recently did a shoot for Hunter's senior portraits. They went really well and we had fun too! Hopefully I'll soon have some more senior pictures to take of other people! Also I am currently applying for art positions at some of the local schools. There is actually a job opening at Bryant Middle School and I am hopeful to get hired there before school starts in the fall. I would be hired on with my provisional license (since I would be interning for the fall semester) and then just continue working there once I finished my internship. So everyone be in prayer for me for an art position at a local school! Until next time, everyone have a great spring!

Spring!
Spring break is around the corner and I am so glad! That means that this semester is nearly over and I am closer to being finished with my Masters! Seth has been working hard and helping out Mark and Mia on renovating their new house. It is going to look great! I have just been asked to help a group of artists with a mural in the River Market, so I am very excited about that new adventure! I'll keep you updated on the progress of Mark and Mia's house and the mural in Little Rock, until then, enjoy all of the beautiful flowers that are finally coming out!

Lately...
So we've been quite busy lately...school, work and then we've been working on some side projects on the weekend as well. Seth made an amazing (and huge) dog house for Roo and I proceeded to paint it the color of macaroni and cheese! Roo seems to enjoy it though!
Another weekend project that is going on is a lamp that I am working on. Mawmaw and Pawpaw let me have a couple of Aspen trees from Colorado, and I am in the process of turning one of them into a lamp.....I still have a ways to go, but I'll get there eventually!
I am also preparing for a show at a cute little restaurant right up the street from my house called Darlin's. Seth is in the process of helping my make some frames for some photography for that show...I have such a great husband!

Life Made Simple
So I've been working on this piece of art for a class and have a poem I wrote to go along with it. There is a story with it...I am living right across the street from the house I lived in when I was little, which brings up lots of memories. Anyway, I used to play with this little girl who was my neighbor all the time and this is about our fun times. I'll have a piece of art to post with this later. I'm not that into writing, so this is all new to me and I'm not even sure if this is all that great, so hopefully I'll get better!
Life Made Simple
Buttons, balloons and mudpies
Traveling to unexpected places,
A land cracked opened we discovered
Hiding right before our faces.
Inspiring our souls and minds
With just the things around us,
No need for fancy items
Inside, our inspiration was.

Our first blog!
Hello everyone! Seth and I have joined the world of bloggers! I'm not sure that we know the ins and outs of everything just yet, so hopefully we'll get the hang of this soon! Until then, everyone have a great week! We love you all!
